制片人阿方索（Adam Huss 饰）带着摄制组前往墨西哥的卡巴•圣卢卡斯，准备拍摄一部低成本的色情影片。但是他们的车在沙漠中迷路，汽油也消耗殆尽。在当地人的指引下，他们向最近的加油站前进，但同时也得到一个建议，那就是“绕开恐怖的神血镇”。 当地有一个传说，曾经墨西哥最棒的摔角手“面具人”（Rey Misterio Sr. 饰）比赛中精神失常，杀掉了对手。随后他被囚禁在神血镇，而每当发现有人靠近时，他就会按照墨西哥摔角的规矩，揭掉对手的面具——也就是人脸！ 不怕死的剧组，终于走进了禁闭的神血镇……。根据世界级英裔美籍著名幽默作家P.G.Wodehouse的系列作品改编，编剧Clive Exton同时也是ITV拳头剧《大侦探波罗》(Poirot)系列的主力编剧。主演史蒂芬·弗莱(Stephen Fry)和休·劳瑞(Hugh Laurie)均为剑桥出身，与爱玛·汤普森(Emma Thompson)等当年同在剑桥Footlights表演俱乐部演出(Monty Python主要成员也出身于此)，两人均多才多艺，剑桥之后在电影、电视、广播领域长年合作。国内观众对这两位的印象可能主要来自Richard Curtis/Ben Elton编剧、罗温·艾金森(Rowan Atkinson)主演的《黑爵士》(Blackadder)系列。小说作者P.G. Wodehouse，通译沃德豪斯(1881-1975)，英国小说家和喜剧作家。以塑造“绅士中的绅士”Jeeves...。The story is very basic| it deals with the adventures of young street-criminals in Madrid who graduate from car-theft to bank-robbery. What's interesting is the way Saura makes us care about these "hijos de nadie", who are kind and decent people 50% of the time, and feel they have no future in regular society. But the movie never sentimentalizes them - they do exactly what you'd expect such people to do.。
