2012年2月，东京铁塔上空出现了巨大的数码蛋。就在本宫大辅（20岁）和V仔兽修行拉面技艺的时候，遇到了拿着有裂纹的数码器，但身边没有搭档数码兽的迷之青年——自称“我没有数码兽，我的搭档数码兽被我杀了，我是世界上最初和数码兽建立搭档关系的人类。”。When he learns his days are numbered old count Hervé de Kéraudren decides to hide in a secret alcove and to die there, just to annoy his heirs. As a result of his body not being found the latter will have to wait for five years until they can inherit the count's money. Very upsetting indeed, all the more as they are required to keep up the Kéraudren estate in the meantime.
