河井リツ子作のコミック「とっとこハム太郎」を原作としたアニメ作品。2000年7月から2004年3月まで放送されていた「とっとこハム太郎」（第１期）を、デジタルリマスターで再構成したもの。これまで3作が制作されてきた「ハム太郎」シリーズは、いずれも河井リツ子作詞・作曲の「ハム太郎とっとこうた」のバリエーションがオープニングテーマに起用されてきた。本作でもその伝統は踏襲され、新作「ハム太郎とっとこうた2011」が使用されている。 緑あふれる小さな町に住む、小学5年生ロコちゃん。彼女が家で飼っているハムスターのハム太郎は、好奇心旺盛で元気一杯。いつも仲間のハムスター「ハムちゃんず」と共に、大騒ぎを巻き起こしていく。。I Am Richard Pryor tells the story of the legendary performer and iconic social satirist, who transcended race and social barriers by delivering his honest irreverent and biting humor to America's stages and living rooms until his death at 65.
