《古田军号》是庆祝中华人民共和国成立70周年献礼影片。影片用真诚的艺术表达和创新的手法，以一个红军小号手的视角，讲述了红军从井冈山突围到闽西期间，年轻的领袖带领年轻的红军，在绝境中探索真理，开辟了中国红军的非凡历程。。An ex-cop, now working as a hack novelist, is called out of retirement to help investigate a string of deaths that appear to be the work of a serial killer but soon are revealed to be the work of the Syngenor - the synthesized genetic organism!。两位雇农（基顿与罗伯茨饰演）同时爱上了农场主的女儿，为此展开争夺战。两个人住在同一间屋子里，里面有许多神奇的机械装置，譬如将床翻个面掉个个放置就变成了钢琴。基顿在逃跑的过程中伪装成一个稻草人，由此也成为这部短片片名的来由。。
