描述了在二战期间，一个女人艰难的抚养两个小孩的故事。她的丈夫被德国人抓去服劳役了。在一次偶然的机会，她为她的朋友做了流产手术，之后就一发而不可收拾，同时与其他的事情交织在一起：沮丧的丈夫回来，自己与德国人通奸，为卖淫提供便利等。最后，因为触犯了国家法律，她被推上了断头台，身首异处，留下两个孩子。。It's amazing to have finally seen this lost film. Poor Mark Burns died this year without ever having seen the finished film! Why was it lost? It's quite good but I can understand that even if this film had a normal release in cinemas it would not have been a hit. It's too sad and tragic. The performances are great, tho.
