On the cusp of her widowed mother Ruth's sixtieth birthday and the return of her dysfunctional siblings Drew, Doonie and Raf, Beth is swept away by visions of their idyllic childhood and re-lives the moments that defined her...。位于大阪的鸨屋蛟龙堂最早以药材批发起家，之后凭借秘方配制的药丸逐渐闻名远近。及至第二代，两名弟子互不服输，导致蛟龙堂分裂，两家当街对门经营，各以“元祖”和“本家”自居，暗斗多年。两年前，本家第三代当家善池喜一郎（遠藤要 饰）与元祖当家丸部长彦（忍成修吾 饰）发生争执，并用硫酸将对方毁容。悲剧过后，长彦头戴面具深锁阁楼，喜一郎则不知去向。某日，喜一郎的妹妹初惠（武井咲 饰）请来青年侦探金田一耕助（山下智久 饰）调查本家员工被跟踪的事件，后者却目睹长彦遭绑架并遇害的惊人一幕。绵亘两代的纷争仍在继续，金田一不得不努力揭开隐藏多年的谜题，而早已功成名就的名侦探明智小五郎（伊藤英明 饰）也化身记者，与金田一展开一场侦探的对决…… 本片根据芦边拓的原作改编。。
