该剧讲述台大电机系三年级学生钟应斯与男同学程灵同名的女友，由认识、交往，到恋爱，受到表哥吴健夫种种阻扰陷害，以至最后在小木屋撞伤死亡等一段曲折不幸的故事。。Speedy" loses his job as a soda-jerk, then spends the day with his girl at Coney Island. He then becomes a cab driver and delivers Babe Ruth to Yankee Stadium, where he stays to see the game. When the railroad tries to run the last horse-drawn trolley (operated by his girl's grandfather) out of business, "Speedy" organizes the neighborhood oldtimers to thwart their scheme.。
