It’s the 18th century, and Paola (Massenti), a delinquent street kid who’s always looking for trouble, unexpectedly finds herself stymying the plans of the terrible Baron De Michelis (De Luigi), a small, hunchbacked man who is never without his faithful yet ill-treated servant Marmotta (Ballerina) and who harbours a boundless thirst for power teamed with an immeasurable hatred ...。本片讲述两名青年男子企图飞越疯人院的“奋斗历程”。 男主角李秀明（吕珍九 Jin-gu Yeo 饰）因对母亲的自杀怀有内疚心理而患上精神分裂症，后被亲生父亲送入精神病院，多次转院，屡次申请出院，均被以各种原因拒绝。面对从不探望的父亲，面对医院冰冷的管理，面临同院好友圣民（ 李民基 Min-gi Lee 饰）“自由”的诱惑，秀明最终能否走出病院？ 本片根据郑柚井（音译）同名原作改编，原作曾获得2009年第5届韩国世界文学奖。。
