故事的舞台在现代的意大利，政府机关“社会福祉公社”表面上是收容重伤残障的少女、给予医治和职业训练的福利机构，实际上却是对收容的少女进行义体改造，并投入药物洗脑，使她们成为对抗恐怖份子的尖兵。每位少女都搭配有一位辅佐官，这种组合被称为“fratello”，是意大利语中“兄妹”之意。少女们对辅佐官都具有（制约造成的）混合了爱情及亲情的绝对忠诚。与社会福址公社敌对的是被称为“五共和国派”的恐怖组织。该组织的政治诉求是响应以意大利北部为据点的“北部同盟”（Lega Nord）党首Umberto Bossi所提倡的，意大利北部8省与中部3省应该自意大利共和国分离独立的主张，并依此实行武装抗争运动（但在现实中的意大利并无此组织，真实存在的北部同盟也不支持恐怖活动）。。The four vampires of the residence gather to discuss what they should do with Guillermo, who killed the Vampire Council. Laszlo is happy that they're fine, but Nadia isn't so sure. She figures that Guillermo is Nandor's responsibility, but he points out that Guillermo did it to save them. Colin doesn't care, and Nadia and the Doll insist that they have to kill Guillermo. Nandor...。Without warning, millions of mysterious alien "doors" suddenly appear around the globe. In a rush to determine the reason for their arrival, mankind must work together to understand the purpose of these cosmic anomalies. Bizarre incidences occurring around the sentient doors leads humanity to question their own existence and an altered reality as they attempt to enter them.。
