罗莎（Sheila Marcia 饰）和艾米丽（Stefanie Hariadi 饰）是情同手足的姐妹，然而在一场争吵之后，罗莎把艾米丽赶出了家门，没想到艾米丽就此失踪，这让罗莎感到非常的后悔以及自责。罗莎将这一切都告诉了自己的好友泰拉，泰拉认为艾米丽其实是搭上了传说中的鬼列车，并且建议罗莎去找一个叫做巴比的男人。 巴比（Melvin Lim 饰）的女友也是在一个月黑风高之夜登上了鬼列车之后音信全无，在法师齐阿诺的帮助下，巴比和一干好友最终登上了鬼列车，在列车上，他们看到了很多死去的乘客的鬼魂，这些鬼魂向他们发起了进攻。终于，巴比逃出了鬼列车，但这些鬼魂却也跟随着他，侵入了他的生活之中。。十二年前，大澳一对青年男女风与妹私奔失败，妹只身迁往香港，从此二人一水隔天涯。十二年后妹为找寻昔日宁静的乡土，由香港迁回大澳居住，更与旧恋人风重拾旧欢。但不同的生活痕迹，使他们的感情受到考验。对从大陆逃港的青年坤﹝刘青云饰﹞来说，香港祇是其踏脚石。为了前往巴拉圭，他冒着被警方追缉和被黑社会追杀的危险，潜逃香港，并匿藏大澳。究竟他能否如愿以偿？风与妹感情又能否携手终老。Disarmingly realistic in its depiction of the realities of frontier life, Heartland is a strong antidote to the cliches of traditional Westerns. This semi-documentary slice of life is based on the diaries of Elmore Randall Stewart about her days on the Wyoming frontier in the early 20th century. It's a strongly feminist statement about a woman raising her small daughter alone and scrapping for a living by working for a shy Scottish rancher. Director Richard Pearce brings an endearing touch to a film that is helped greatly by the dazzling cinematography of Fred Murphy. Conchata Ferrell and Rip Torn star in this small film that substitutes veracity for a high-powered plot. Pearce worked as a cinematographer on Woodstock and other documentaries before making his directorial debut. Winner of the 1980 Berlin Golden Bear at the Berlin Film Festival。
