齐亮声（温兆伦）乃的士司机，为人踏实，与母（苏杏璇）相依为命。尚天堂（张卫健）为好赌的交通辅警，堂因故与声交恶，而堂妹尚天娇（刘玉翠）则对声苦缠。堂与声分别邂逅黎金妹（梁佩玲），妹生性纯良，因舅父贪财迫其入娱乐圈，更被电影老板卓若礼（吴启明）追求。 礼与父卓奔（胡枫）狼狈为奸，经营贩毒生意，妹得堂之助摆脱礼，二人更是坠入爱河，礼因而迁怒堂，遂设计令堂横死，而堂之肾脏移植了因意处受伤的声。堂死后，声照顾妹，而礼妹若男（李婉华）不耻父兄所为，与声成为好友，更对他产生爱意。堂在地府饱受鬼卒折磨，后得两鬼吴耀祥（黄一山）及王美媚（李秀媚）之助，脱离苦海。堂对妹念念不忘，欲返回阳间找妹，但声与妹日久生情，堂醋意大生之际，发现声与妹前生本为夫妻，男与堂冥冥中更有一段宿缘，四人错综复杂之关系，究竟如何解决？而声与妹又能否再续前缘？。The Power of Emotion explains that emotion isn't to be confused with sentimentality.
